How can I update the name on my policy?

How to request a legal name update on your APOLLO policy, what our team can change, and why policy name transfers to a different individual are not supported.

Written by Celina De Bruge

Updating the legal name on your policy requires our support team — this cannot be done through the Customer Portal.

What we can update

Our team can update the name of the primary policyholder to reflect a legal name change — for example, following a marriage, divorce, or deed poll. We cannot transfer a policy from one individual to a completely different person. The policy must remain in the name of the person who took it out, updated to reflect their current legal name.

How to request a name update

Contact us through the Contact Us page with the following:

  • Your policy number

  • Your current name as it appears on the policy

  • Your updated legal name

  • The reason for the change (e.g. marriage, divorce, deed poll)

Our team will update your policy documents and reissue your certificate of insurance with the corrected name.

What we cannot do

We cannot change the policyholder name from one individual to a completely different person — for example, transferring the policy from your name to a partner's name, or to a family member. If a different person needs coverage, they will need to take out their own policy.
