Does this policy cover all my belongings no matter what happens?

Tenant insurance covers many common losses, but special limits and deductibles apply. Here's what to review before you need to make a claim.

Your APOLLO tenant insurance policy covers your personal belongings in the event of covered losses such as theft, fire, and water damage. However, coverage is not unlimited β€” there are a few important things to be aware of before you need to make a claim.

Special Limits Apply to Certain Items

Some categories of belongings have a maximum payout regardless of their actual value. Common examples include jewellery, bicycles, electronics, and collectibles. If you own high-value items in these categories, you may want to increase your special limits through the Customer Portal.

Your Deductible Applies

Any claim payout will have your deductible subtracted from it. Make sure you know your deductible amount before filing β€” if the damage is close to that amount, it may not be worth claiming.

Some Events Are Excluded

Standard policies do not cover every possible scenario. Events like earthquakes, overland flooding, and sewer back-up are typically excluded unless you've added enhanced water coverage to your policy.

We recommend reviewing your policy documents carefully so you understand exactly what is and isn't covered before you need it.
