APOLLO policies renew automatically each year to make sure you're never left without coverage. If you'd prefer not to renew, you can opt out at any time before the renewal date — and in most cases, even shortly after if you change your mind.
How auto-renewal works
Your policy will automatically renew for another 12 months on your expiry date. Here's what the timeline looks like:
90 days before expiry — APOLLO sends you an email letting you know your policy is approaching renewal and reminding you how to opt out if you'd like to.
Annual policies: your renewal premium is charged 15 days before your policy expires.
Monthly policies: your renewal premium is charged on the day your policy renews.
If you want to opt out, we recommend doing so well before the renewal charge is processed to keep things simple.
How to opt out of auto-renewal
If your renewal has been released (i.e. you received an email):
Step 1 — Log in to your Customer Portal
Go to policy-portal.apollocover.com and sign in to your account.
Step 2 — There should be a blue banner at the top of the main screen, "Manage my Renewal."
Step 3 — Decline the renewal
What if my policy has already renewed?
If your renewal payment was processed very recently, you may still be able to reverse it. Simply select the option to cancel your policy and select the end of your current term as the cancellation date. For example, if your policy is set to expiry and auto-renewal for July 1, 2026, select July 1, 2026, as the cancellation date.
If you've already renewed and want to cancel mid-term, a short-rate cancellation fee will apply. See How are cancellation fees calculated? for details on what to expect.
