How do I remove someone from my policy?

How to remove a roommate from your APOLLO policy through the Customer Portal, and how to contact support to remove a spouse, family member, or co-applicant.

Written by Celina De Bruge

Whether you can remove someone from your policy depends on who they are. Some changes can be made through the Customer Portal yourself; others require our support team.

Removing a roommate — self-serve via the portal

If you added a roommate to your policy and they've moved out, you can remove them yourself through the Customer Portal:

  1. Select Manage my Policy

  2. Select Modify Coverage

  3. Find the roommate listed on your policy and select Remove

  4. Choose the date you want the removal to take effect and confirm

Once removed, your roommate's belongings and liability are no longer covered under your policy. They'll need their own policy if they want coverage at their new address.

Removing a spouse, common-law partner, family member, or co-applicant — contact support

Removing a spouse, common-law partner, other family member, or co-applicant from your policy cannot be done through the Customer Portal. This requires our support team to process the change on your behalf.

To request the removal, contact us through the Contact Us page with:

  • Your policy number

  • Your full name and address as it appears on your policy

  • The name of the person you'd like removed

  • The date you'd like the removal to take effect

Will my premium change?

Removing someone from your policy may affect your premium. If a refund is owed for the remaining term, it will be applied to your payment method on file within 7–10 business days for annual policies. For monthly plans, the adjustment will reflect in your next billing cycle.
