I'm moving. How can I update the address on my policy?

Moving to a new address? Update your policy location quickly and easily through the APOLLO Customer Portal.

Written by Celina De Bruge

Why it matters

Your tenant insurance is tied to the address on your policy. If you move without updating it, you may not be covered at your new location. The good news is it takes just a few minutes — and you don't need to cancel and repurchase a new policy.

What happens when you update your address

Your premium may adjust slightly based on the risk profile of your new location — for example, proximity to a fire station or whether the area has a higher rate of claims. You'll see any changes clearly before confirming the update. Your Certificate of Insurance will also be reissued to reflect your new address.

Note: If you are moving to a different province, the change takes effect immediately. If moving within the same province, the certificate will show the effective date you selected during the update.

How to update your address

Log in to APOLLO's self-serve Customer Portal and follow these steps:

  1. Select "I'm Moving" from your policy menu.

  2. Select "Change Address."

  3. Search for your new address. If it doesn't appear, select "I can't find my address here" to enter it manually.

  4. Select Continue and choose the date you want the address change to take effect.

  5. Confirm the change — your updated policy documents will be sent to the email address on file.

What to expect after updating your address

Once you confirm the change, APOLLO will send updated policy documents — including your new Certificate of Insurance — to the email address registered on your account. This email usually arrives within a few minutes.

If you don't receive the email:

  • Check your spam, junk, and promotions folders for an email from login@apollocover.com or noreply@apollocover.com.

  • Make sure you're checking the same email address you used when you purchased the policy. The updated documents are sent to that email only.

  • Check that your inbox isn't full or that you don't have any filters blocking transactional emails.

  • If you've checked all of the above and it's been more than 30 minutes with no email, contact our team via Contact Us and an agent will resend the documents and confirm the email address on file.

You can also log in to the Customer Portal at any time to view and download your current policy documents directly.

Sharing your updated policy with your landlord

If your landlord needs a copy of your Certificate of Insurance with the new address, you can share it directly from the Customer Portal. See: Share Your Policy with Your Landlord in Seconds.
